For the 1967 model year, the thirteen digit
Serial Number or
VIN was continued from 1966, except for the 2nd and 7th digits.
For example, A7KM97V100001 All of the Characters
remained the same, but
the change in the Second digit = Model Year = 7 = 1967
And the new engine codes that became available
for the model
year in the Seventh digit Series and Engine - 6750 = Marlin Engine
Codes
For 1967 new AMC
V-8 engines
were offered, the 290 and 343, replacing the old AMC 287 and 327
engines which
were much heavier. The
